The position reports to the Director designate of the Saskatchewan Isotope Laboratory, Dr. Chris Holmden. The manager supervises technical support staff, students, faculty and visiting scientists who use the Saskatchewan Isotope Laboratory to perform all or part of their research; improves the facility through analytical developments that increase research capacity; keeps the five mass spectrometers of the facility operating; ensures that instrument down-time is minimized; oversees the safety of the users of the facility; develops and enforces quality assurance and quality control processes to ensure data quality; interacts with clients and collaborators within and outside of the University, providing knowledge, training, and specialized expertise in isotope geochemical methods; responsible for staff hiring, competency and training; manages the finances of the Saskatchewan Isotope Laboratory; promotes the capabilities of the Saskatchewan Isotope Laboratory to maintain a large user constituency
