Description

Amec Foster Wheelers Mining business is seeking an Intermediate Buyer in our Saskatoon, SK office location. Reporting to the Manager, Supply Chain and working along other team members locally, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to perform purchasing tasks in accordance with standard techniques, procedures, and criteria within assigned areas of responsibilities. Key Responsibilities
Maintaining knowledge of various commodities, available manufacturers, sources and maintaining a Project Bidders List for orders and services
Preparing and issuing Requests for Quotation (RFQ)
Evaluating quotations and preparing bid evaluations for project approval, including negotiating with suppliers
Confirming bid tab value against the estimate, and preparing, issuing, and administering purchase orders and change orders
Verifying invoice progress payments, discrepancies and final payment with accounting
Negotiating back charges for final settlement
Closing out purchase order files and completing supplier performance evaluation
Role Requirements
2-5 years of purchasing experience within EPC/EPCM projects is required. Experience in the mining industry is considered an asset
Technical college diploma and/or university degree coupled with CPP designation or equivalent
Requires highly effective skills in organization, planning and communication and the ability to work in a team environment
Experience working in an engineering consulting environment with commodity buying is preferred
Construction experience in a heavy industrial environment is an asset
