Adecco Saskatoon is currently looking for a short term contract Legal Assistant in Saskatoon. Our client is one of Saskatchewan's top legal firms. Our client is looking for a Legal Assistant to provide support to lawyers in Family Law and Litigation. The successful candidate will work under the direct supervision of Family and litigation lawyers in reviewing and preparing legal documents. The ideal candidate will have graduated from a recognized legal administrative assistant program or a related program and have 1-3 years of experience.
Responsibilities for the Legal Assistant job will include;
-Typing, editing and sometimes drafting complex documents from voicemail, email and dictation including
-Acting on client instructions and reporting to financial institutions and other parties
-Handling corporate real estate transactions including mortgage and other security documentation
-Scheduling client appointments
-Organizing documentation related to financings, mergers, acquisitions and closings
-Preparation of closing books
-Requisitioning due diligence searches
-Entering lawyers billing time
Requirements:
-High School Diploma and have graduated from a recognized Legal Administrative Assistant program and/or will have sufficient related experience working in a law firm or other applicable areas
-1 - 3 years of experience in a similar role
-Proficiency with computer software and internet required (Word, Outlook, Excel, internet)
-Minimum typing speed of 50 WPM
-Ability to compose correspondence, reports, and other written materials using clear concise business English
-Demonstrate a high degree of accuracy, prioritization and organizational skills
-Working knowledge of Acumin and Worldox is desirable
