A well established growing manufacturer based in Biggar, SK currently has a permanent job opportunity for a General Mechanic. The ideal candidate will have long term manufacturing industry experience maintaining a wide variety of equipment. Our client is a leading manufacturer of above-ground storage tanks with clients through the oil and gas, mining, petroleum and heavy industrial industry. The wage for this role is highly competitive and the company offers a comprehensive benefit package. Upon hiring, relocation to Biggar, SK is expected as a condition of employment.
Responsibilities and requirements for General Mechanic
- 5 to 15 years of hands-on mechanical experience (no ticket required)
- General maintenance of shop equipment including forklifts, cranes, mobile cranes, production machinery, welders, cutting and shearing equipment etc.
- Coordinating and working with various departments including the welding, warehouse, blasting and production teams to ensure equipment is running appropriately.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical problems independently
- General preventative maintenance to ensure minimal downtime.
- Must have valid Drivers License with clean abstract
