POST SECONDARY EDUCATION COORDINATOR

Under the direction of the Director of Education, the Post Secondary Coordinator will manage and administer the Post Secondary Student Support Program.

Minimum Requirements:

>Undergraduate Degree in Administration or Education, other degrees may be considered;
>Minimum of five (5) years work experience in post-secondary program delivery;
>Experience in budget development and management;
>Excellent organization and coordination skills;
>Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office and data base programs;
>Ability to develop workshops and presentations to students and community members;
>An understanding of the challenges of First Nations post-secondary students; awareness of guidance or coaching theories and techniques.

Duties and Responsibilities:

>Prepares an annual budget and monitors expenditures accordingly;
>Develops proposals for funding for community-based, summer student employment, and other post-secondary programs;
>Develop reports required by funding agencies;
>Negotiates with post-secondary Institutions for the delivery of community-based program delivery;
>Supervises post secondary program support staff;
>Assist students with academic counselling/program outlines and providing post-secondary information and options to eligible students;
>Develop a resource data base of post secondary programs and funding sources;
>Recommending policy revisions and ensuring that post-secondary policy is implemented in a fair and equitable manner.
