Job Description: The Regional Director, Physical Plant and Maintenance is responsible for the planning, developing, organizing and directing of the Physical Plant and Maintenance department. This includes policies, standards, legal requirements, philosophy and mission of the Sun Country Health Region. The position is also the designated Fire Marshall for the Region. The Regional Director, Physical Plant and Maintenance is responsible to the Vice-President, Corporate Services and Finance. For the area/facilities under his/her authority, the incumbent will independently: Develop and implement building management programs and/or services; Develop policies and procedures to ensure the safe operation of regional facilities; Oversees the effectiveness of the preventative maintenance program;  Plan and co-ordinate in-house renovations; Develop, monitor and control the Maintenance budget in all regional facilities; Direct staff, coordinate programs, establish guidelines, allocate resources, work with other Regional Directors and Facility Managers to promote a team approach to planning and service; When appropriate, hire, fires, promotes, demotes, investigates incidents involving employee behavior, disciplines employees, does performance appraisals, grants leaves of absence and time off, approves overtime and represents the employer at meetings related to collective bargaining.
Required Qualifications

Degree in Engineering
Member in good standing with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (or an equivalent level of education in trade, architecture or building systems)
Experience
A minimum of five (5) years experience in a senior position in healthcare physical plant management. Experience in a unionized environment would
