Unique Contract Interiors (UNCI) is a family owned company that has been in operation for over 27 years. They manufacture, supply, and install commercial and hospitality furniture throughout Canada. They are looking to find the right candidate to fill their Labourer/Installer position. Job duties and qualifications are listed below:
Job Duties:
- Assist on installs as directed by the Installation Department Head. Travel is required but all expenses are covered by UNCI - travel, hotel, food.
- Handle pick-ups, deliveries, and other repair duties for restaurant furniture.
- Strip old fabric off wood furniture and re-upholster new fabric on it.
- Some basic wood building is needed for supporting our wooden commercial furniture.
- Other general labour duties as required.
Job Qualifications:
- Experience with furniture building and installing would be considered an asset.
- Must be able to travel out of town and often times for over night stays.
- Must have a valid Class 5 drivers license. Experience with pulling a trailer is an asset.
- Must be able to speak and write English.
- Experience with reading layouts/blueprints considered an asset.
- Must be familiar and capable of using power tools (saws, drill, industrial staple guns, etc.)
- Be able to work in a fast past environment with glues, saw dust, and loud noises.
- Must be physically fit and capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. Also, must be able to stand for long periods of time.
