Description

Peter Ballantyne Child & Family Services Inc. is accepting applications for the position of (1) full time Foster Care Worker for the Southend Child & Family Services office.

Duties;Reporting to the Program Supervisor, the major responsibilities will be:
Investigating reporting of abuse, neglect and abandonment
>Placing children in need of protection
>Monitor placements on a regular basis
>Providing a range of family support services
>Developing preventions and educational services
>Providing on going counseling and support services to children & families
>Recruiting and training prospective foster parents
>Conducting in depth home studies
>Making recommendations regarding the approval and use of new foster home parents and assisting them in meeting the obligations to family services and the children/families that are placed in their care
>Conducting annual and periodic review of foster homes to evaluate their fostering services and to ensure their family health, psychological, training and professional needs are met
>Assisting in coordinating emergency and ongoing foster placements within the service centre area
>Recruiting and licensing foster homes and maintain an adequate pool of foster care resources within the community .
Qualifications:
Minimun Grade 12 or GED with ceritifcate of Social Work or equivalent training with and/or experience in the Child & Family Services area or related field.
Maturiy and Stability
Commitment to protecting children
Willingness to participate in training.
willingness to travel when required.
Willing to provide on-call coverage after regular office hours and weekends
Exellent written, oral communication and public speaking skills
Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.
Must have a working telephone at home.
Knowledge of the Cree culture, language, political and social objectives of peter Ballantyne Cree Nation
