Description

The Treatment Plants Operator will be responsible and accountable for, but not limited to:
- Operate and maintain a Class III Water Treatment Plant, River Intake facility, Pump House and Storage Reservoir
- Ensure the safe operation of plant equipment, routine monitoring and general water plant inspections as required.
- Perform equipment and facility maintenance
- Laboratory duties, including sampling and testing of water quality
- Safe handling of water treatment chemicals
- Data entry, maintaining logs, and ensuring maintenance and plant records are accurate and up to date
- Identifying equipment/process problems and taking necessary corrective action
- Participate in the City of Lloydminsters Safety Management System
This position involves shift work and the assignment of alternate duties on occasion.

Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education from an accredited institute in the field of water treatment/ Environmental technology or acceptable equivalent.
- Preference will be given to those who have experience in a water treatment facility and hold a valid Saskatchewan or Alberta operators certificate.
- Ability to upgrade certification levels and safety tickets during the course of employment.
- Valid Class 5 Vehicle Operators License with a clean driving record.
- Demonstrate the ability to work independently with commitment and focus
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and operators on the appropriate technical level
- Positive attitude with great identification and resolution skills
- Basic mechanical knowledge
- Demonstrate computer competency
- Must be in good physical condition
