The Nursing Unit Coordinator (NUC) is based out of Home Care, 16 hours per week. The NUC will provide assistance in the form of indirect nursing care and will be responsible to ensure appropriate utilization of and referrals to Home Care. The NUC will provide a leadership role that encourages and maintains a high standard of best practice and ethical care that is followed by all members of the interdisciplinary team. The NUC is accountable for the ongoing determination of care needs and services for Home Care nursing clients within Prairie North Health Region. The delivery of client care is consistent with policies, vision, and mission and health outcome goals of the region.
Further, the NUC is accountable for day to day clinical supervision of the nursing staff (inclusive of RNs, LPNs, and the Palliative Care Nurse) in Meadow Lake, Goodsoil, and Loon Lake.
The NUC will promote good interpersonal relations amongst the Home Care staff and other health care workers within Home Care. The NUC will maintain good public relations and communication with families, volunteers and the community.
The NUC functions as a member of the multi-disciplinary team within Home Care, Primary responsibilities are: overseeing nursing; Clinical and staff supervision and support nursing staff. In addition, Continuing Care Aides and Assessor Coordinators.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree/Diploma in Nursing
Registered or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses Association (SRNA)
Minimum 1 year recent Home Care nursing experience
