Skills and Abilities:
Must have an excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to relate to operations personnel
Must be a self-motivated individual and demonstrate project management and engineering design
Must have a strong leadership skills and mentoring ability for laboratory specialist and junior professionals
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible in assisting development and maintaining competent personnel through mentorship and direct supervision competencies
Participating and initiating training courses including scientific observation, laboratory techniques, results interpretation, and specific areas of interest, both leadership and technical
Contribute to the accomplishment of research goals by handling competing priorities and conducting all project phases. Project phases include execution of engineering plans, planning of experiment, and interpretation of results from laboratory to pilot scale
Represent technical services group in the business unit, share new ideas and facilitate technology transfer
Consult, advise, and provide technology demonstration support to other departments to contribute to their technical capabilities
Recognize opportunities for new research initiatives in accordance with the companys strategic priorities. Innovation and creative ideas are encouraged.
Convey research findings through regular meetings with project stakeholders, monthly reporting, and technical peer review presentations. Utilizing strong oral, written and presentation skills.
Contribute and lead safety initiatives by participation in safety meetings, safety audits, chemical audits, project reviews, and behavior based safety programs.
