The Continuing Care Instructor will be responsible for delivering the Continuing Care Assistant curriculum to adult students registered in the course. Courses of instruction include, but are not limited to: Assisting with Special Procedures; Body Systems; Dementia Behaviour; Dementia Family Care; End of Life Care; Food Safety; Helping Skills; Human Growth and Development; Interpersonal Communications; Nutrition; Observing, Reporting and Recording; Personal Care; Personal Competence; Post-Acute Care; Professional Assault Response Training; Safe Environment; Special Needs; and Transferring Lifting Repositioning.
The minimal qualifications for this position are: a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing; Registered Nurse Certification; two (2) years of experience in gerontology, home care, and special care education; and strong instructional, communication and interpersonal skills. A relevant combination of education and experience may be considered.
