The suitable candidate will have knowledge and abilities of the following:
>Understanding of cultural diversity.
>Indicators and dynamics of family violence and neglect, poverty, addictions, pro-criminal/antisocial behaviour
>How they may influence a young person?s ability to make change;
>Human (especially adolescent) growth and development and factors that impact it;
>Local and surrounding community services and resource people;
>Understanding of The youth criminal justice system.
>Physically active / interest or skills in areas that interest young people;
>Work with aggressive or non-communicative behaviours;
>Work independently and as a contributing member of various community groups to meet clients? needs and program goals and objectives;
>Able to de-escalate conflict or help resolve crisis situations;
>Recruit mentors and community resources (where applicable) by providing community awareness/education about the program;;
>Able to write concise correspondence, reports and chronological notes.
>Ability to work flexible hours (evenings and weekends)
>Interviewing and assessment skills;
>Conflict resolution/program solving skills;
>Criminal Occurrence Security Check;
>Valid Driver?s License;
>First Aid/CPR
