The John Howard Society of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon Branch, has an exciting career opportunity for a highly motivated and innovative professional to become the Assistant Director of Social Programming. Reporting to the Director of Social Programming, Saskatoon Branch, this position will provide support to the Director of Social Programming as well as caseworkers and other staff in the Residential, Supported Independent Living and Community Outreach programs. You will assist the Director in the development and delivery of all aspects of service delivery.  Using a client-centred lens, you will be responsible for:

    Weekly and emergency staff scheduling;
    Staff supervision;
    Property management;
    Meeting program outcome measures and contract compliance;
    Maintaining house budgets and daily operational spending;
    Day-to-day case management support

Typically, the knowledge and competencies for this position would be acquired through a Bachelors degree in a Human/Social Sciences, Social Work, or other human services related degree with experience and knowledge in the residential services sector.   Critical to this position is knowledge and experience in understanding the issues and dynamics of homelessness in our region.  Experience managing in a unionized environment is an asset.  An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.

This position may have non-traditional hours and rotating on-call requirements.
