Louis Dreyfus Commodities in Yorkton, SK is looking for a fulltime Shift Leader at our Yorkton SK Canola Crushing Facility.
The successful candidate for this position is responsible for supervising a shift of production staff and material handling. Primary function is to ensure quality products are produced in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with established production schedules as directed by plant superintendents.
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing the following Primary duties:
Monitoring of Plant Production Operations.
Accountable for the production, safety and quality of the shift team
Helps plan the daily activities of production staff, issues work assignments accordingly
Maintains proper coverage by managing production staffing schedules
Coordinates production startups, shutdowns and changeovers
Completes regular checks of staff and equipment throughout their shift to ensure that standard operating procedures are followed and Company quality standards are met
Responds to production issues or alarms and leads investigations as necessary
Assures that production employees work safely.
Assures that established environmental procedures are followed and recordkeeping requirements are met.
Reporting and Communication:
Collects shift productivity information and records it in the plants data management system
Serves as the liaison between the Plant Superintendents and the production staff
Reports any manufacturing equipment issues to maintenance staff
Investigates and prepares reports for safety and environmental accidents and near-misses.
General knowledge of oilseed processing operations is preferred.
