Position profile The University of Saskatchewan, in partnership with the Saskatoon Health Region, is inviting applications for a fulltime Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Stroke Specialist. The position will be located at the Rehabilitation Centre at Saskatoon City Hospital. The Department is highly integrated with Wascana Rehabilitation in Regina. In this newly created position, the successful candidate will build upon existing synergies established by both the newly developed endovascular research group and the newly created Cameco Research Chair in MS position. The successful candidate will lead the provincial stroke research mandate, augment undergraduate and post graduate medical and interdisciplinary education, and enhance interdisciplinary patient-focused care. Definitive proportions of clinical service, medical leadership, teaching responsibilities, and extent of academic engagement will be negotiable and depend on experience, interests, and qualifications.
Time away from work for vacation and scholarly activities (up to 40 weekdays yearly) may be scheduled, in conjunction with other departmental members. We have a collaborative model of practice with a full interdisciplinary rehabilitation team that includes family physician hospitalists and nurse practitioners.
