Northern Blizzard Resources Inc. is a publicly traded Canadian company based in Calgary, Alberta. Northern Blizzard was founded in late 2009 and is engaged in the exploration for and the acquisition, development and production of petroleum and natural gas reserves in western Canada.
We are presently seeking to fill the position of Maintenance Technician - Electrical. This position will be responsible for assisting the operations and maintenance departments with optimizing existing facilities. It will be located in Central, SK (Kerrobert, Kindersley, Macklin, Unity) and will report to the Maintenance Superintendent. Specific duties will include:
Evaluating existing facility retrofits (MOCs) and completing requires tasks in-house where possible,
Operating a variety of testing, calibration and repair devices, tools and equipment including voltmeters, ammeters, ohmeters, insulation resistance testers, high potential test sets, and circuit breaker testers,
Troubleshooting complex electrical problems and developing effective resolutions,
Maintaining and creating electrical standards,
Maintaining equipment history records using manuals and computer systems,
Ensuring industry and corporate standards are followed and maintained on all installations,
Working a 4-3 schedule and covering an on call schedule.
In addition the ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and characteristics:
Minimum 8-10 years of experience of oil and gas industry experience,
Completion of Electrical Journeymen with Red Seal Certification,
Valid drivers license and clean drivers abstract,
Experience in electrical design and architecture,
Excellent communication and organizational skills,
Proven troubleshooting and problem solving skills,
Flexibility and independence; ability to work a rotating schedule.
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.)
- Electrical Mechanic Trade Certification
