Working under the direction of the Recreation Services Manager, the Head Guard/Cashier/Lifeguard/Instructor is responsible for all aspects of delivering a municipal pool program, which includes, but not limited to: supervising of public swimming, instructing Learn-to-Swim classes and related duties such as serving as a Cashier. This position is subject to adjustable days/hours of work including evenings and weekends. If you have the following qualifications, this opportunity will be of interest to you!
- Grade 12 education
- Lifeguard Certification to meet current Saskatchewan Health Swimming Pool Regulations and Standards
- National Lifeguard, Life Saving Instructors and Fitness Instructor Certifications
- Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Lifeguard/Instructor, plus 1 year experience in a supervisory capacity
- Demonstrated ability to identify and appropriately respond to an emergency situation
- Ability to supervise, lead and direct the activities of employees
- Ability to deal courteously, effectively and tactfully with the public
- Ability to work accurately with cash and be fully bondable
- Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Class System and Microsoft Publisher
