Description

CREE LANGUAGE INSTRUCTOR
As an instructor of the SIMFC Cree Y Dialect Community Language Program, you will report to and assist the Community Programs Coordinator in delivering sessions that combine Nhiyawwin (Cree) and cultural teachings to the community of Saskatoon.
The position will be a term from Mid October, to March 31, 2016.  Rate of pay will be $30.
Qualifications:
    Teaching certificate, University Degree or Bachelor of Education is preferred. Relevant combination of work and experience will also be considered
o    Experience teaching cultural activities
o    Understanding of Saskatoons Aboriginal Community
o    A valid drivers license and access to a vehicle
o    Preference will be given to Aboriginal Candidates (Please self-identify)
o    Ability to work weeknight evenings
Roles and Responsibilities:
Lesson Planning by creating a two term plan for language outcomes, assessments, activities and acquisition of materials for lessons and resources
Mid-term project coordination, performing assessments and preparations for term two
Implementation by instructing up to 2 (3 hour) sessions a week to community members held at 2 accessible locations within the City of Saskatoon.  Addition hours are allowed for prep time.
Progress reporting, Creating and maintaining records of participants and lesson plans, qualitative and quantitative assessments and instructor evaluation for final report.
