Description

Responsibilities:
Carry out technical review & recommendations for development permits, subdivision applications, zoning amendments, contract zoning, discretionary uses & sign permit applications
Follow up & enforce development permit requirements & zoning regulations
Provide Administration, Council & the Development Appeals Board with rationale for sound & ethical planning
Prepare & present various planning related reports to Town Council, Development Appeals Board, the public & various other authorities.
Act as a liaison with the public, consultants, builders & other government agencies & authorities on policies, procedures & land use controls in the Town of Kindersley.
Coordinate ongoing review & revision of the Town of Kindersley Official Community Plan & Zoning Bylaw
Research & develop various land use policies & procedures as may be required.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Urban Planning, Geography or other directly related field
Registered Professional Planner (RPP) or eligible for membership in the Canadian Institute of Planners
Experience in land use planning or related position in a municipal context
Knowlege of the principles & practices of urban planning, as well as applicable legislation & regularly requirements in SK
Superior ability to interpret planning policies & zoning regulations
Excellent writing, public speaking & presentation skills
Excellent organizational & time management skills, with the ability to multi-task, problem solve & meet timelines
Strong critical thinking & analytical skills
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with all employees, elected officials, development industry professionals & the public in a positive approach
Strong working knowledge & skills with Microsoft Office Suite, including:  Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint - also AutoCAD, &/or Geographic Information System (GIS)
