Description

North Sask Victim Services Inc. is a non-profit organization that is responsible to provide the delivery of police based victim services in northern Saskatchewan.  The Executive Director (ED) will be responsible for overseeing and managing the delivery of the organizations programs in accordance with the mission, vision and Strategic Plan.  

Based in La Ronge, the key responsibilities of the ED will include:
Support the Board to carry out its governance functions
Develop operational plans and budgets to achieve outcomes and strategic goals
Assess community needs and implement best practices
Provide day-to-day administration including program alignment, compliance with operational policy, program evaluation, maintenance of record keeping and information management systems
Manage the human resources of the organization and develop a collaborative team based culture
Ensure accountability throughout the organization, including the preparation of required reports for the Board, funders, key stakeholders and public
    Develop and grow funding sources
    Develop and maintain healthy relationships with media, public and key stakeholders

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, interpersonal and leadership skills, and a proven ability to build collaborative community partnerships.  In addition to a degree in human services plus five years senior management experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience), the individual will possess:
Experience in the not-for-profit setting and familiarity with Policy Governance board models
Knowledge of issues/needs, organizations, and resources related to victim services programs
Familiarity with counselling theories and practices, budgeting and accounting processes, and human resource management, and
Knowledge of northern and Aboriginal cultures, identity and languages

The successful applicant must pass a RCMP Security Clearance and a Vulnerable Sector Record Check.
