Aboriginal Headstart Assistant/Van Driver


The Lac La Ronge Indian Band Health Services is now inviting applications for (1) one Permanent Part Time Aboriginal Headstart Assistant/Van/Bus Driver to work in the community of Hall Lake.  The successful candidate will be required to assist in the program delivery of the Aboriginal Head Start Program.

Duties:
>    Maintain Van Driver endorsement;
>    Maintains constant supervision of indoor and outdoor activities;
>    Develops problem solving with all children;
>    Works with parents and providing proper guidance for the children;
>    Follows vehicle policy manual including log book use;
>    Follow the procedures outlined in the staff/parents handbook;
>    Responsible for minor Van maintenance;
>    Ensure child restraints are used when required;
>    Ensures safety of playground and playground equipment;

Qualifications:
>    Must possess a Valid Van Endorsement (ability to drive 3-4 year old preschoolers);
>    Use skills and interventions to meet physical, social, emotional and spiritual needs of the children;
>    Must provide a Criminal Record Check, Child Abuse Record Check and Driver's Abstract upon hire;
>    Ability to speak/understand Cree and/or knowledge of the Cree Culture is an asset;
>    A valid Frist Aid & CPR certificate is an asset.

Salary Range: Depending on education and/or experience
