Lac La Ronge Indian Band Public Works & Housing Department is now inviting applications for the following position:

AUTOMOTIVE SERVICE TECHNICIAN


The Automotive Service Technician Apprentice will work under the Shop Supervisor.  The apprentice will be indentured to Trades North.  Apprentices work 10 months and will attend technical training for 2 months at Saskpolytechnic in Saskatoon.  As per LLRIB Personnel Policy, apprentices must sign an Apprenticeship Agreement.  Apprentices receive full pay when periodically relocating for in-class technical training.

The suitable candidate will be able to perform the following duties:

-    Review work orders, advise on work performed as required
-    Diagnose service, repair and replace all parts of automobiles, light trucks, buses and equipment
-    Use of hand tools and other automotive repair equipment
-    Inspect motor in operation and road test vehicles/equipment
-    Maintain positive public relations on behalf of the department
-    Perform other work related duties as requested by a supervisor

The suitable candidate will possess the following qualifications:
-    Preference will be given to those with a Grade 12 diploma, Adult 12 or GED 12
-    Minimum complete Grade 10 will also be considered
-    Must possess a valid Class 5 License
-    Must be self directed, highly motivated and a team player
-    Be able to work under the direction of a supervisor
-    Must have a good work ethic
