The City of Swift Current is inviting applications for the position of Pool Technician II for the two aquatic facilities in the Community Services Division, Aquatic Centre and Fairview Pool. This is a permanent full-time position.

Under the direction of the Aquatic Superintendent, you will mainly be responsible for monitoring and maintaining all mechanical systems in the aquatic facilities to ensure safe and efficient operation of systems, as well as all aspects of janitorial and grounds maintenance in all areas of the aquatic facilities.

Basic Requirements:
. Completion of Grade Twelve (12);
. Must posses and maintain a valid Class 5 Saskatchewan Motor Vehicle Operators License;
Willingness to obtain a Criminal Record Check and a Vulnerable Sector Check;
. Commitment to be available for evening and weekend work as required;
. Preference will be given to candidates who possess a Pool Operator's certificate, or post secondary courses, training or experience specifically related to operation and maintenance of pool equipment -- pumps, filters, heaters, air exchangers, etc.;
. Ability to deal tactfully and communicate effectively with the general public and
co-workers;
. Ability to perform basic routine maintenance of equipment as required; and
. Ability to use basic hand tools to complete a variety of tasks and repairs.

Desirable Requirements:
. First Aid Training and WHIMS knowledge is an asset; and
. Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Guidelines and City of Swift Current Safety Policies and Procedures

The salary range for this position is $20.67 to $21.31 per hour (salary under review) in accordance with City of Swift Current/CUPE Local 183 Collective Agreement.
