Afrik Interim Canada is recruiting for our clients for the position of Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic.

Overall responsibility/Main functions
    Perform diagnostics, service repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment and vehicles

Duties
    Check heavy equipment for proper performance and inspect equipment and vehicles to detect faults and malfunctions
    Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required
    Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems, using hand and power tools
    Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications
    Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment
    Perform other duties as assigned.

Employment Requirements:

Language
    English

Credentials
    Trade/Journeyman certification preferred
    Red Seal endorsement preferred
    Class 1A or 5 drivers license

Experience
    2 year

Educational requirements
    High school diploma or GED
    Over 3 years apprenticeship preferred

Physical requirements (if any)
    Weight handling: up to 45 kg (100 lbs)

Compensation and benefits
    $22 - $40/hr based on experience
