Assist centre group supervisor with both long and short range activities in accordance with curriculum objectives, developmentally appropriate practice and program philosophy.
Ensure children are supervised at all times
Provide various experiences and activities for children including songs, games and storytelling
Provide opportunities for sleep and rest time
Provide input for daily/weekly/monthly reports and/or assessment of children's development
Maintain daily open communication with parents
Keep accident reports
Maintain childrens daily/weekly/monthly records
Maintain confidentiality
Report any suspect abuse to supervisor
Arrange a classroom environment in accordance to program goals and philosophy
Maintain a safe and healthy environment
Inspect and replace damaged or lost materials
Attend weekly in-service and staff meetings
Keep all appropriate records such as records, attendance and timesheets.
Meet all applicable liscensing regulations
Qualification/Must have
ECE Certificate or willingnesss to complete program
Clean Criminal record check
First Aid/CPR Training
TB Test - should have negative result
Safe Food handling course (will training where neccessary)
Have a heart to work with children from 6-months to 12 years
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.)
- First Aid Certificate
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate
- Early Childhood Education Diploma or Degree
Early Childhood Educator Assistant Skills
- Prepare craft materials and assist children to use them
- Prepare and serve snacks
- Observe children and report on observations to supervisor
- Guide children in development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits
- Discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings
- Conduct and monitor activity programs designed for young children
- Arrange transition periods such as lunch and rest for children
Ability to Supervise
- 5-10 people
