Description

The National Child Benefit Reinvestment Co-ordinator is a position that is supervised by the Human Resource Manager with overall accountability to Chief and Council.  This is a highly confidential administrative support position dealing with confidential records.  The Assistant shall be responsible for booking keeping, recording minutes in an efficient and effective manner and be responsible for the National Child Benefit Reinvestment program which will provide community-based supports and services for children in low-income families.    
QUALIFICATIONS:
-Must have superior organizational skills, pay attention to detail and work independently with minimum supervision.
-Must have strong written and oral communication skills.  Must be able to record minutes and provide admin support to the Income Support Administrator.
-Have experience and knowledge of First Nation Government social programs
-Must have knowledge and experience with Policy and Procedures
-Possess the ability to maintain the management of confidential information and must be prepared to sign an Oath of Confidentiality.
-Possess a valid driver?s license, own a reliable vehicle.
-Submit a current Criminal Records Check with resume.
-Successful applicant will be required to submit a current drug test within 30 days.
-Submit three (3) current written references with resume/application.
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
-Problem solving working with staff employees and band membership.
-Possess the ability to work under pressure and in a team setting.
-Photocopy and emailing.
-Superior skills taking minutes, typing and sending out follow-up correspondence to various departments of the First Nation.
-Maintain and prepare reports, electronic files, update mailing lists and databases and filing system.
-Provide general information to clients and the general public when required.
-Electronic mail, Excel, MS Word, Windows and knowledge of accounting software.
