Description

The City of Swift Current is inviting applications for an Equipment Operator at the Swift Current Airport.  This is a seasonal part-time position that will require covering extended periods of severe weather, vacation and sick leave coverage.  Under the direct supervision of the Airport Manager this position will assist in the maintenance and operations associated with a certified airport.

Basic Requirements:
. Completion of Grade Twelve (12);  
. Must possess and maintain a valid Class 5A Saskatchewan Drivers License;
. Willingness to obtain a Criminal Record Check and a Vulnerable Sector Check;  
. Ability to be on call from October until March 31, 2016;
. Heavy equipment experience.  Preference will be given to candidates that possess Power Mobile Equipment certification from Heavy Construction Safety Association of Saskatchewan Inc.;
. Proficiency with Microsoft Windows;
. Ability to work with basic hand tools and workshop equipment;
. Willingness to work in the outdoors; and
. Ability to work with a minimum of supervision.

Desirable Requirements:
. Airport or aviation-related experience;
. WHMIS/MSDS training;
. First Aid Training;
. Familiarization with industrial safety programs and OH&S regulations; and
. Ability to interact with airport users (public, tenants, flight crews)
