Description

Reporting to the Retail Facilities Architectural Technologist, responsibilities for this position include the following:

1. Assist the Retail Facilities Managers during site visits, by reviewing existing structures and sites, and then updating the existing facility and site layouts using AutoCAD software.  
2. Using AutoCAD software, design and draw proposed drawings which include, but are not limited to, floor plans, site plans, exterior and interior elevations, technical schematics for smallwares and production equipment in food stores, 3D interior and exterior perspectives using Sketch Up, sales per square foot layouts and communication and security layouts for all projects.  
3. Provide detailed narratives in memo or e-mail format to explain concept designs.  
4. Assist in drawing/blueprint reviews to ensure the plans meet FCL standards.
5. Assist with the maintenance of the preferred supplier fixture programs, food and convenience store interior decor programs, wiring schematics, and smallwares drawings for food stores.
6. Approximate annual travel of 5% throughout Western Canada will be required.

The successful candidate will have a diploma in Architectural Technology, Mechanical Technology, CAD/CAM Engineering Technology or Engineering Design & Drafting Technology along with 1 to 3 years of drafting experience with proficiency in AutoCAD design software and a basic understanding of construction and building codes.
