JABA Construction Limited and Platinum Homes Plus is seeking an Estimator to join our clients team. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated leader, with a passion for numbers and building relationships. Under the direction of the president of the companies, this person is responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of full cost estimates for projects, including material quantities and pricing. He or she will be tasked with preparing and maintaining a list of suppliers, contractors and subcontractors.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare and/or coordinate the preparation of full cost estimates on conceptual, design-build or general tender work.
Prepare materials, labour and equipment cost estimations necessary to successfully carry out a construction project according to proposals, plans, estimates and specifications
Prepare and maintain a list of suppliers, contractors and subcontractors
Study and analyze proposals received
Recommend/reject proposals and negotiate contracts
Administer all change orders
Fully responsible for accounts receivable for all projects
Participate and coordinate company risk and opportunity evaluation with clients
Review proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate
Maintain files pertaining to all aspects of the job
Monitor and report on all projects to the president of the companies
Responsible for closing of the sale while representing the company at the highest standards
Any other duties and responsibilities assigned during the process
QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION
Experience in the carpentry field and two years in estimating residential/commercial renovations and new home construction
Demonstrate excellent organizational & time management skills
Computer Skills
Must possess a valid drivers license
Must be fluent in English
