Under the direction of the Clinical Supervisor of the Treatment Centre, the successful applicant will be responsible for the supervision of the residents of the White Buffalo Treatment Centre including all aspects of residential care, group and individual counselling, assessment evaluation and case planning. The Night Youth Worker must possess the following qualities, knowledge and experience.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent AND three (3) years direct work experience as a youth caregiver
OR
Certificate or Diploma in the field of social work, psychology, education, or human services AND three (3) years direct work experience
Other Requirements:
Ability to use de-escalation skills with youth clients and seek assistance from Supervisor and/or other staff
Ability to understand the awareness of and sensitivity to the needs of youth and youth culture that WBYTC serves
Knowledge of accepted and effective techniques for working with at risk youth with diverse family dynamics
Excellent communication skills, professional demeanor, sound judgment, and strong organizational skills
Ability to impact client retention through mentoring, motivation, and monitoring practices
Detailed knowledge of all current Microsoft Office software applications and programs, including an aptitude and working knowledge of computer courseware and hardware
Requires CPR and First Aid certification in order to attend to minor injuries, etc.
Salary will commensurate with knowledge and experience.
