Responsibilities:  
- Manage the safety of operational construction sites and equipment
- Ensure documentation is completed to support company due diligence in ensuring the safety of employees and members of the public
- Be proactive in recommending changes to improve our safety programs
- Participate in the development and implementation of safety training programs
- Ensure employees attend all applicable safety training
- Ensure that sub-contractors adhere to required safety standards in keeping with Company policy/legislation
- Investigate workplace accidents and report findings to Corporate Risk Manager
- Facilitate modified and return to work programs for injured employees
- Participate in the Joint Health & Safety Committee

Education/ Skills:  
- Formal education and/or training in Environmental Health and Safety, CRSP, CSO or equivalent experience
- 2-3 years in a construction environment is an asset
- Safety knowledge in Fall Protection, Fire Protection and WHMIS
- Knowledge of accident investigation
- Knowledge and understanding of WCB legislation
- Strong administrative and organizational skills
- Computer literate in Windows applications; Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Presentation skills are an asset  
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Team attitude with a willingness to learn
- Valid drivers license required
