Elmwood Residences Inc. provides care and support to individuals with intellectual disabilities in a group home setting. We are currently looking to fill part time positions with varying amounts of guaranteed hours. Some positions do not have any night shifts and would be ideal for work-life balance. Part time employees have the option to pick up extra shifts to maximize hours.
Elmwood offers free meals, free parking, free admission to concerts/sporting events as well as a comprehensive benefits package including paid training, Pension, Group Life and Disability Insurance, Prescription Drug, Dental and Optical coverage.
Duties include:
-Personal Care (bathing/toileting assistance, hair/skin care)
-Cooking and Cleaning
-Planning and attending Recreation activities (concerts, sporting and cultural events)
-Recording and Reporting
-Keeping track of and attending appointments with residents
-Giving medication
Required Qualifications:
-Completion of Grade 12 and/or equivalent qualifications
-Candidates must hold a valid Saskatchewan Class 5 drivers license, and have a good driving record. Out of province applicants may be required to provide Driver's abstract
-Candidates must be willing to drive a wheelchair van (after training)
-Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
-Must be flexible, patient and be able to cope with unpredictable or aggressive behaviors
-Able to work alone or with little supervision
-Clear current Criminal Record Check including Vulnerable Sector search must be provided at time of interview and upon request
-Must be able to work a variety of scheduled shifts which may include mornings, evenings, nights, weekends and Stat Holidays.
Preferred Qualifications:
-experience in providing personal care to adults
-experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities
-Rehab Worker/Special Care Aide/Personal Care Aide/Continuing Care Aide/Disability Support Worker Certification
