Description

The Co-operative Retailing System (CRS) is a unique, multi-billion dollar organization based on the fundamental principles of co-operation. It is comprised of a network of approximately 220 autonomous retail co-operatives across Western Canada along with their branch operations, and Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL). FCL is the wholesaling/manufacturing arm of the CRS, which provides the retail co-ops with a range of products and services. FCL invites applications for the position of Accounting Technician - Gross Margins.

**Please note: this is a temporary, full-time position for up to six (6) months; may be extended, may lead to permanent.

Reporting to one of FCL's Retail Accounting Supervisors, the Accounting Technician - Gross Margins is responsible for the following:

1.    Prepare gross margin analysis for reporting retail inventories.
2.    Review, batch and extend retail inventories for processing and edit output.
3.    Review, cross reference and extend retail outstanding lists.
4.    Prepare journal entries as required.
5.    Prepare retail communications regarding gross margins, online receiving books, and irregularities, as required.
6.    Maintain department files as required.
7.    Prepare reconciliations of assigned balance sheet accounts. Follow up and clear outstanding items.
8.    Other duties as assigned.

In order to qualify for this position, applicants must have successfully completed the following SIAST/Saskatchewan Polytechnic courses: Introductory Accounting I & II (ACCT 122 & 125), Intermediate Accounting I & II (ACCT 220 & 221), Cost Accounting I (ACCT 226) or equivalents. In addition, applicants must also have a minimum of two and a half years of related accounting experience.
