Description

The Building Materials Team Member provides exceptional assistance and service to RONA customers with their lumber and millworks product needs. They are responsible for maintaining department standards to ensure we meet customers needs.
The successful candidate will possess;
Experience in customer service-focused roles
Excellent listening, communication & interpersonal skills
Detail oriented & strong organizational skills
Ability to work independently, take initiative, and demonstrate flexibility
Time management and problem solving skills
Ability to perform work duties that involve stretching, bending, lifting, and carrying medium to heavy products
Proficient computer skills
2 years of retail and related building materials/lumber experience an asset
Equipment experience (Forklift, Reach, Picker) an asset
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will be able to;
Sales
Build strong and lasting relationships with our retail, professional and commercial customers
Initiate contact with every customer, guide customers to departments, and provide products and services
Increase sales and margin by offering add on and complimentary products
Service
Demonstrate and encourage RONA Values in all decisions and actions
Provide all customers with exceptional customer service through the use of RONAs values and customer service programs
Answer telephone calls and assist telephone customers
Prepare paperwork and follow procedures to complete special orders for customers
Store Operations and Procedures
Assist with the daily upkeep of the department by down stocking, cleaning, price labelling, & other assigned duties
Participate in store merchandising activities such as building and resetting product displays
Assist in maintaining store inventory data accuracy; utilizes computer systems, considers data integrity, and participates in inventory counts
