The City of Moose Jaw is looking for an energetic individual for a term position until the end of April 2016 who would be interested in performing various operations of administrative, clerical, record keeping, payables and costing activities, including input of general ledger entries; issuance and control of purchase orders; review, code and input payable and receivable invoices; review and input cheque requisitions; post accounts payable and receivable; produce cheques and post payments; maintain supplier master information file and reconcile statements to ledger; receive and respond to inquiries; generate and complete equipment reserve asset sheets; and perform electronic fund transfers. If you have the following qualifications, this opportunity will be of interest to you:
- Diploma of Applied Arts and Sciences in Accounting (SIAST) or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year's previous experience in accounting payables and receivables
- Working knowledge of computer software packages, i.e. spreadsheets, word processing and accounting
- Accurate keyboarding speed at 55 wpm
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Able to organize and complete work assignments efficiently with minimal supervision
