Description

The position of Fire Services Technician is to maintain the level of excellence in the service and maintenance of off road fire suppression systems, extinguishers, and SCBAs.  This position will be based out of the Regina location but will also involve remote service at additional customer locations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Attend to emergency calls both in normal operating hours, evenings or weekends
Inspect and service Respiratory equipment and related (SCBA, Breathing Air compressor, Respirator Fit testing, etc.)
Inspect, service and install fire safety equipment (suppression, extinguishers) and facilities safety equipment (first aid, eyewash, emergency lighting etc.)
General shop duties such as filling and recharging of cylinders and extinguishers.
Prepare all new service scans, reports, material for input.
Setting up and labelling of scans within plants and related terminals.
Calibrating of instruments (customer) monthly, semi.
Placement of fire protection as laid out under Saskatchewan Fire Code - NFPA10.
Completion of certification documents for customers (for work or training done)
Assist the service coordinators with quoting customers on work to be performed.
Be an ongoing contributor to the development of Job Hazard Analysiss and Safe Work Practices relevant to the position
Obtain and maintain industry certifications
Maintain service vehicle and related inventory
Timely and accurate completion and submission of paperwork
Troubleshoot and provide/recommend solutions to service related problems.
Participate in mandatory safety training
Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
Grade 12 or equivalent
Mechanical Aptitude with Basic Electrical Knowledge is ideal
Working knowledge of Ansul and Kidde Vehicle Systems preferred
Certified in inspection & testing of hand portable fire extinguishers
Good oral/written communications
Good computer skills
Ability to work out of town as required
