Description

Reporting to the Propane Sales and Operations Supervisor, the Propane Service Technician is responsible for:
1.To promote the sale and the use Co-op Propane
2.To provide customer service to all retail personnel, customers, and co-workers in a helpful and respectful manner, and refer any concerns to the supervisor for action.
3.To accept, schedule and carry out service and installation orders from retail Co-ops, retail members and FCL direct accounts.
4.Assist in mentoring co-workers in Service Technician 1 positions if and when required.
5.To complete annual maintenance checks on all required commercial and filling plant locations. Record any deficiencies found and complete any repairs required to ensure facilities are safe and conform to all regulations and codes.
6.To maintain an inventory of propane equipment, parts and fittings.
7.The operation and service of truck cranes while following applicable standards during rigging, loading, securing and transporting of tanks and other equipment.
8.Become familiar with the operation of the computerized Propane Sales Management System (PSMS) and carry out administrative responsibilities as required.
9.To ensure all necessary preventative maintenance procedures are carried out on the service vehicle and crane unit, plus maintain all tools and equipment in safe working order and to report any problem areas to the supervisor.
10.To observe and assess potential hazards involving customer tank installations and report concerns to the supervisor.
11.To consistently adhere to all standard work procedures, policies, rules, regulations and guidelines.
12.To deliver propane and to paint customer tanks as required.
