Industrial Driver Lead Hand

Nature and Scope

The Industrial Driver Lead Hand is expected to lead, mentor, and enhance the skill development of employees by providing timely support and delegating appropriate responsibilities. The Lead Hand also develops and maintains professional relationships with all clients and workers.

Position Requirements
* Operations and supervisory experience
* Excellent communication and problem solving skills with the ability to interact professionally while exhibiting confidentiality and diplomacy
* Valid class 1 or 2 drivers license
* Previous industrial / camp experience preferred
* Knowledge of WCB and Occupational Health and Safety regulations
* Computer proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
* Delegate responsibilities to other operations staff
* Ensure all runs are covered in an efficient manner
* Ensure that drivers and staff are treated in a fair and consistent manner using the guidelines and rules set down in the Drivers Handbook
* Create and/or improve existing operations systems and procedures
* Approve bi-weekly payroll
* Be familiar with, and follow, HSEC plan
* Monitor fatigue and manage hours of service
* Fill in as a relief driver as needed

Position Description
* Full time
* 5 day on / 2 day off schedule with some weekend availability required
