Description

General Responsibilities of a Child Care Worker include: Working cooperatively and effectively as a team member by communicating and contributing information on a continuous basis; Assisting the Director with programming; Providing activities and opportunities that encourage curiosity, exploration and problem solving appropriate to the development of the children; Modeling developmentally appropriate activities and positive behaviour management techniques through daily contact with children and other early childhood staff in the classroom; Maintaining open, friendly and cooperative relationships with each child's family and encouraging their involvement in the program.; Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of current child development practices; Observing children for signs of learning disabilities or emotional problems and reporting concerns to the Director; Helping children clean up after activities and generally tidying up center; Assisting in housekeeping duties (sanitization); Serving snacks and meals; Helping with Cooks role when necessary.

General responsibilities for The Cook are:
following the ministry-approved menu, including shopping, prepping and preparing food, and cleaning the kitchen. It is the cooks responsibility to ensure that she is serving nutritious, balanced meals according to Canadas Food Guide. Administrative Responsibilities include making shopping lists and submitting grocery receipts and completing time sheets. Professionalism responsibilities are the same as other center staff. The Cook is under the direction of the Floor Supervisor/Director.
