Description

We are looking for a dynamic and creative individual to join our team on Ochapowace as a full time Justice Coordinator.

Job Summary:
The Justice Coordinator works under the supervision of the Director of Operations and under the direction and guidance of the Justice Committee and Justice Portfolio Councillor.  The coordinator is responsible for administering the community justice program in order to ensure the program is effective and meets all legislative and community justice requirements.  This includes managing the program; providing support, researching and advising on community justice services and programs in a fair and responsible expedient manner; develop community policing and crime prevention projects that allows for justice to be carried out in an effective manner within the community.

Education and experience:
Preference will be given to candidates with a degree or diploma in Justice and / or Criminal Law or bachelor's degree in a related field, or 3 years experience in a legal field.

Knowldege, skills and abilities:
Proficient knowledge in community justice theories and models, traditional justice models, restorative justice theories and models, healing justice programs; knowledge of provincial and federal legislation, policies and procedures; an understanding of sentencing programs and cultural and political environment; demonstrated skills and abilities in coordinating and implementing community justice programs; team building, problem solving, and decision making skills, effective communication skills, negotiation and mediation skills and time management skills.  A valid driver's license and reliable transportation is required.

A Criminal Record Check (Vulnerable Sector) is required with application, Prohibited drug test is required for the successful candidate.
