The Town of Whitewood is accepting applications for the position of Recreation Technician.
Applicants must possess a minimum Grade 12 or GED and a valid Class 5 Drivers License or equivalent.  

Applicants will be involved in the daily upkeep and operation of all municipal recreation facilities including but not limited to an NHL sized arena / 4 sheet curling rink, outdoor pool, ball diamonds and campground.  Experience working in a recreation setting an asset but not required. Experience in the operation and upkeep of equipment an asset.
General Duties will include:
    Ice maintenance
    Facility Cleaning
    Facility Maintenance
    Customer Service
    Greenspace maintenance
    Other duties as assigned
        
Applicants will have the opportunity to plan, organize, and run recreation programming should they desire.  The applicant should be willing to pursue recreation facility certifications such as Arena Operator I, Arena Operator II, Pool Operator I etc.  Certifications will be paid for by the employer.  Current qualification of any of the above certifications is a definite asset.
Applicants must be able to work independently and as part of a team.  The ability to effectively prioritize tasks and to work with minimal to no supervision is an asset.

Compensation is commensurate with experience.  Please provide a range of your salary expectations with your submission.  This position is a salaried, 40 hour per week position with an excellent benefit package including 8% matching pension contributions.  Applicants from out of province may be offered a relocation bonus.
