Wollaston Assistant Coordinator
North Sask Victim Services is a non-profit
organization that works in cooperation with the
RCMP to provide assistance to victims of crime and
traumatic events. The position of Victim Service
Assistant Coordinator is a full time position,
located in the Wollaston Lake RCMP detachment, and
is responsible to ensure the delivery of quality
service to clients within the RCMP detachment
area.
Duties include the overall management of a police-
affiliated Victim Service program; recruitment,
training and supervision of volunteers;
collaboration with community partners; and direct
service delivery. The Victim Service Assistant
Coordinator works under the direction of senior
staff from North Sask Victim Services.
Qualifications
-Related post-secondary education; an equivalent
combination of education and experience may be
considered.
-Successful completion of security clearance by
RCMP
-Demonstrated strength in interpersonal,
communication and conflict resolution skills
-Understanding of best practices in volunteer
management
-Ability to develop and interpret policies and
procedures
-Ability to write and interpret reports
-Demonstrated organizational and problem-solving
skills
-Ability to work flexible hours, including
evenings and week- ends as required
-Valid drivers license, personal vehicle and
ability to travel within program area
-Experience living in isolated northern
Saskatchewan communities
Assets
-Experience working for a non-profit organization
-Experience in management of staff and volunteers
-Experience in program evaluation and financial,
statistical and narrative reporting
-Experience in providing crisis intervention
services
-Experience working in a police environment and/or
with victims of crime
-Knowledge of First Nations culture, history and
language
