Description

As Structural Steel Drafter, you will be a vital member of a skilled team working on high profile projects with our client, a reputable steel detailing, fabrication and erection firm.

As the selected candidate you will:
- Provide structural steel drafting for steel buildings in the commercial, industrial, institutional and related fields.
- Ensure final drawings and documents are in accordance with specifications and project/client needs.
- Respond to enquiries from shop personnel, field staff and the project/construction team.
- Analyze, troubleshoot and provide solutions at the office and on site.
- Work cooperatively with site engineers, construction teams, contractors and trades.
- Travel on occasion to project sites, to verify measurements and project needs.  


Education:
- Related Technical Diploma in structural, architectural/steel detailing and/or an equivalent of technical education and experience.

Experience
- 3+ years experience in structural steel detailing/drafting within the commercial, industrial and/or institutional industries.

Computer
- A strong working knowledge of AutoCAD, 3D detailing or related software.
- Word, Excel and outlook.
- Knowledge of Building Information Modelling (BIM) is an asset, as well as Tekla software applications.
