We are a world leader in the agricultural equipment manufacturing industry with a range of portable grain handling equipment.
We have seen some movement within our purchasing department and we are currently seeking to fill the position of Purchasing Agent. This position will be responsible for ensuring that we have the right product in the right place at the right time in order to support production and minimize costs. This role is very cross-functional as you will work closely with the Sales, Production, Engineering and Accounting departments.
Reporting / Interaction with other team members
Reports to the Purchasing Manager position
Works cooperatively with all area supervisors, management and team members
Roles & Responsibilities
Purchase equipment, materials and services
Negotiate purchase terms and conditions
Establish delivery schedules, monitor progress and contact clients and suppliers to resolve problems
Develop a strong, positive rapport with vendors
Study the full product lines, becoming an expert in product knowledge. Seek out new products that will help increase the companys profitability.
Work with Sales to keep up to date on current trends and needs
Run and Analyze reports to determine sell-thru percentage and then make appropriate decision to ensure we have the proper inventory levels
