POSITION CONCEPT
The Printer Technician reports to the Service Manager. The Printer Technician is responsible for the troubleshooting, repair, installing and upgrading of Print and Imaging hardware, peripherals, and other telecommunication or instrumentation devices or hardware, as well as providing technical assistance to system users.
Specific Accountabilities:
Responsible for troubleshooting, repair and upgrading of Print and Imaging equipment and other hardware. Provides on-site IT Services.
Duties may include:
1.Assembles and configures Print and Imaging devices and peripherals
2.Installs necessary drivers for required component and tests its functionality
3.Performs routine equipment maintenance and upgrading tasks
4.Troubleshoots and repair equipment problems
5.Correct technical incidents within defined Service level Agreements
6.Diagnoses hardware, software, and operator problems; and recommends or performs remedial actions to correct problems.
7.Enters commands and observes system functions to verify correct system operation.
8.Provides accurate documentation
9.Delivers excellent customer service both in house and at client sites
10.Able to work as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision
11.Travel within Saskatchewan is required
12.Able to achieve and maintain certification(s) to stay current
Qualifications (Education/Experience/Skills & Abilities)
1.IT related Certificate or Diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution preferred
2.3-5 years related troubleshooting experience and/or IT customer service experience
3.Strong communication, organizational, and problem solving skills
4.Must possess A+ certification, another hardware/software related certification would be an asset
5.PDI+ designation an asset
6.Printer repair experience
7.HP and Lexmark printer experience preferred
8.Current Class 5 Saskatchewan Driver's License
