Job Description: Under the direction of the Vice President Human Resources, the Regional Director Labour Relations/Employment Services is accountable for providing strategic leadership, direction, planning, communication, facilitation and team development pertaining to labour relations, employment services and the Aboriginal Awareness program within the Sun Country Health Region and Affiliates (SCHR). The Regional Director, Labour Relations/Employment Services is responsible for the provision of effective Labour Relations/Employment Services programs and management practices to ensure efficient utilization of staff, consistent application of collective bargaining agreements, conformance with legislation and regional policies and promote harmonious relationships between employer, employees and unions. The incumbent may be involved and provide advice in other matters within the Human Resources division.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor Degree in Commerce or Business Administration majoring in Human Resource Management, coupled with a minimum of five years previous work experience in Labour Relations or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience
An undergraduate degree in Human Resource Management, Labour Relations or related field.
A minimum of five (5) years experience in a senior labour relations position involving negotiation, collective agreement administration and interpretation preferably in a health care environment. A minimum of five (5) years of experience in a management role in a health care environment. Experience with payroll systems, electronic staff scheduling and respective reporting.
