The organization: Spinal Cord Injury Saskatchewan Inc. assists persons with spinal cord injuries and other physical disabilities to achieve independence, self reliance and full community participation.
The Position: Facilitate and support people in developing their personal goals. Build relationships of trust within the Aboriginal community for CPA programs and services; Interact effectively with people of all cultures, socio-economic backgrounds and abilities.
The Candidate will possess:
-Ability to develop effective working relationships with various groups
-Strong community network with First Nation and Metis communities and agencies
-Experience facilitating personal growth for individuals with physical disabilities and the principles of counselling services
-Knowledge of Aboriginal community an asset
-Knowledgeable in cultural sensitivity, Canadians history effects on First Nations Peoples
-Demonstrate ability to work in a collaborative team environment utilizing well developed organization and time management skills
-Knowledge of spinal cord injury and other physical disabilities is an asset
-Understanding of and respect for client confidentiality
-Excellent oral and written/report skills, facilitation and interpersonal skills
-Computer literacy in windows and familiar with Microsoft office, data entry, email and internet
-Ability to provide an approved criminal record including venerable sector
-Ability to travel (primarily in Southern Sask) and to work evenings and weekend
-Valid drivers license and reliable vehicle
Education: An undergraduate degree/certificate in a related field or discipline; combination of education and exerpience in a related discipline.
