The Community Safety Officer Supervisor will provide mentorship & direction to an experienced force of 5 Special Constables. Responsible for enforcement of Municipal bylaws, The Traffic Safety Act, The Alcohol & Gaming Regulation Act 1997, The Highways & Transportation Act 1997, (for weights & measures)The Litter Control Act, The All-Terrain Vehicles Act, The Snowmobile Act, The Cities Act, The Trespass to Properties Act, The Mental Health Services Act, The Cities Act, "not in progress" criminal property offences specific to Theft under $5,000.(Criminal Code Sec. 334b.(i) &(ii) ) & Mischief (Criminal Code Sec. 430) as identified under the approved appointment by the SK Ministry of Corrections, Public Safety & Policing & the Ministry of Justice.
You will lead by example & work collectively to provide presence & visibility throughout the community. This will be accomplished through enforcement, prevention, intervention & education that relate to crime reduction strategies, concepts & principles with regular interaction with RCMP & internal & external agencies.
Qualifications
Minimum 5 to 10 years related experience in policing or municipal bylaw enforcement
Proven leadership & conflict resolution skills; excellent written & verbal communication. Previous supervisory experience an asset
Computer Literate, Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Report Exec.
Acceptable Criminal Record check, including vulnerable sector screening by RCMP
Valid class 5 license & clean drivers abstract
Minimum Grade 12, copy of Diploma & Transcript required
Law & Security Diploma/Certificate in Police/Justice Studies, AB CPO 1, SK CSO, or equivalent
Baton & OC spray certification
Radar/Lidar certification
EVOC & Stop Tactics certificate
PPCT certification
Completion of Physical Abilities Evaluation Test
Current First Aid/CPR
Heavy vehicle weight & measures certification
Snowmobile/all terrain vehicle training an asset
ICS 100, 200 Emergency Management courses an asset
