FCL invites applications for the position of Senior Auditor in our home office located in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
The Senior Auditor will lead internal audit engagements involving either the external audit process or the provision of an independent, objective assessment of retail co-operative governance, risk management process and system of internal control structure. The external audit process includes leading the engagement on 8-9 retail co-operatives and coordinating the work effort with the external auditor. The senior auditor on all engagements is responsible for the planning and coordinating of all fieldwork, directing and reviewing the work of the auditor(s) assigned, and concluding the audit engagement.
Reporting to the Audit Manager, responsibilities for this position include the following:
1. Lead internal audit engagements involving external audit process or the provision of an independent, objective assessment of retail co-operative governance, risk management process and system of internal control structure.
2. Responsible for the planning and coordinating of all fieldwork, directing and reviewing assigned work and concluding the audit engagement.
3. Meet with management and directors to present findings.
4. Supervise, train, and mentor Junior Auditors on audit techniques and procedures.
The successful candidate will have a University degree with an Accounting major as well as a Professional Accounting (CPA) or Auditing (CIA, CISA) designation along with 2 to 3 years of experience in assurance and auditing. Knowledge of risk management, governance and control processes is not required but would be an asset however demonstrated effective Supervisory skills are mandatory.
